1997-98 Utah Jazz season : ウィキペディア英語版
1997–98 Utah Jazz season

The 1997–98 Utah Jazz season was the 24th for the National Basketball Association's Utah Jazz.〔(1997-98 Utah Jazz )〕 As the season started, the Jazz were forced to play without their playmaker John Stockton, who had offseason knee injury. Without Stockton, the Jazz would limp along with a record of 11-7. However, upon his return the Jazz reestablished themselves as the power in the West with a league best record 62-20.
The Jazz's top scorer, Karl Malone at 27.0 points per game, was part of a Jazz offense that had two other players, Stockton and Jeff Hornacek, averaging double-digits in points. Malone was the only member of the team to go to the 1998 NBA All-Star Game. They would make it to the playoffs for the fifteenth season in a row.
In the playoffs, the Jazz were tested early by the #8 seed Houston Rockets, who jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first round. However, the Jazz facing elimination would rally with two strong performances to win the series in five games. In the semifinals, they would find things easier as they beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games for their third consecutive trip to the Western Conference Finals. The Jazz continued to roll in the Conference Finals as they swept the Los Angeles Lakers in four straight games, and make it to the NBA Finals for the second straight time before losing in 6 games to the Chicago Bulls.〔http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com/nba/utah/jazz.html〕
